Absolutely stunning

Even straight out of the packing, the opal was yellowed, translucent, and had very little fire. Apparently this happens to Ethiopian opals when they come into contact with any sort of moisture. I have spent enough time trying to dry the opal out (with no luck) that the return window has passed. I should have just returned it from the beginning, but was so excited to have it that I didn’t want to have to return it and wait for a new one (and that’s if the opal was better the second time around, which, who’s to say). Like I said, I probably should have returned it from the get-go as I haven’t even really gotten to wear it. Now I have to pay to put a different, hardier opal in it. In hindsight, I’d pass on any jewelry made with Ethiopian opal, and opt for something with Australian opal instead.
